Mode of Travel Within Bhutan

Mode of transportation within Bhutan is only by motor vehicles as Bhutan does not have domestic air services or railways at the moment. However,the main roads are well maintained. The main two lane highway runs from west to east connecting all the major towns and villages. The mountainous terrain and winding roads restrict the average speed of vehicles to less than 40 km/hr.

Bhutan All Seasons Tours & Treks ( local Bhutan Tour Operator) uses comfortable cars suitable for Bhutanese road conditions for all travel and sightseeing tour within Bhutan. For a group of 1-2 persons, we use either Toyota Prado Land Cruiser, Hyundai Tucson or Honda CR-V. Toyota Hiace Van is used for a group of 3-6 Persons. For a larger groups, we use Toyota Coaster minibuses. All these vehicles are routinely checked and well maintained. All our drivers are well trained and expereinced on the Bhutanese road conditions.
