TOURISM POLICY:
Bhutan Tourism
industry has been strictly regulated in such a way that traditional
culture can be preserved and nurtured. Tourism
industry in Bhutan is founded on the principle of sustainability,
meaning tourism must be environmentally and ecologically friendly,
socially and culturally acceptable, and also economically viable.
For these reasons, tourists visiting Bhutan have been carefully monitored
and the number of tourists visiting Bhutan is kept to an environmentally
manageable level.
All international
visitors, visiting the Kingdom of Bhutan, are required to plan their
Bhutan trip through one of the local Bhutanese tour operators or Bhutanese
travel agencies or any other foreign tour companies affiliated with
tour companies in Bhutan.
All international
visitors visiting Bhutan are required to travel on a guided Bhutan
tour package whereby tourists have to pay full Bhutan tour cost
in advance and subsequently Bhutan visa, hotel booking, flight booking
(optional) and all other other necessary travel arrangements are made
well in advance by one of the Bhutanese tour operators or travel agencies
for the tourists.The minimum
daily Bhutan tour price is fixed by the Tourism
Council of Bhutan, Royal Government

BHUTAN
TOUR BOOKING INFORMATION:
All Bhutan trips must be booked through licensed Bhutanese
Tour Operators or Travel agencies like
Bhutan All Seasons or any other licensed Bhutan tour operators
or Bhutan travel agents, which would arrange all the travel needs
for the tourists for their trip to Bhutan including the Bhutanese
tourist visa, Bhutan flight booking,etc. For any travel information
requirements, all visitors may contact any tour operators or travel
agents in Bhutan.
For Cultural
Tours, general sightseing tours or trekking tour, booking must
be done at least 4 weeks in advance,but for any kind of tours during
festival seasons, tour booking must be done earliest possible.The
spring and autumn festivals are our peak times, and without early
reservations it can be difficult to confirm flights and hotels.
The
Tourism Council of Bhutan regulates all tourism related activities
in Bhutan. The existing Bhutanese travel agencies and Bhutanese tour
operators are approved and registered by them. They also fix the minimum
daily Bhutan tour prices.
DAILY
TOURIST RATE VALID FOR 2011
Bhutan
tour costs from July -Dec,2011 is as follows:

For group
of 3 persons or above, the daily Bhutan tour cost is US$ 200 per
night per person
-
For a group
of 2 persons, the daily Bhutan tour cost is US$ 230 per night
per person (daily tariff US$ 200 + surcharge US$ 30)

For 1 person
or a lone traveler, the daily Bhutan tour cost is US$ 240 per
night per person (daily tariff US$ 200 + surcharge US$ 40)
The above
tour cost is inclusive of the following:

royalty or Bhutan tourist tax

The prices given
above are applicable per tourist per night stay in Bhutan. On the
day of departure, local
Bhutan
tour operators / Bhutan
travel agencies obligation shall be limited to breakfast only
and any extra requirements shall be payable on actual basis.
The following
is not included in the daily Bhutan tour prices:

Visa fee US$20/person (must be paid in advance with tour cost).

Other personal
expenses, calls overseas, laundary,excess baggage charges, etc.

DISCOUNT
ON DAILY TOURIST RATE:
-
There
shall be no charge for CHILDREN up to the age of 5 years. However,
those between the age of 6 to 12 years accompanied by elders/guardians
shall be given a 50% discount on daily tour prices.
-
Full time
Students below the age of 25 years holding valid identity cards
from their academic institutions shall also be given a 25% discount
on daily tour price.
-
A discount
of 50% on daily tour prices shall be given to one person in a
group of 11 to 15 persons.A 100% discount shall be given to one
member in a group exceeding 16 persons.
-
A discount
of 10% on the daily tour prices of US$200 shall be provided from
9th nights and 20% discount is given from 21st night onwards.
TOUR PAYMENT INFORMATION
Full tour cost, for the entire
duration of your stay in Bhutan plus Bhutanese tourist visa fee, must
be paid to one of the Bhutan tour companies or Bhutan Travel Agencies
such as Bhutan All Seasons Tours inorder to get your Bhutanese visa
approval from Tourism
Council of Bhutan, which has to be done prior to your travel date.
Your Bhutanese travel agency would guide you how to make your tour
payment.All the Bhutanese tour operators /Bhutanese travel agencies
follow the same tour
payment procedures and wire transfer information.
Furthermore if you would
like your Bhutanese travel agencies to book your Drukair flights,
then you may have to pay Drukair fare along with your tour cost and
Bhutan visa fee. However,
Drukair flight tickets can be purchase online too.
